Prep Signings: Bartow Standout Femi Sobowale Signs with Georgetown University

Bartow senior volleyball standout Femi Sobowale signed with Georgetown University.

 

Lake Wales' Carnesha Thompson, who was also a first team All-County selection last season in softball, signed with Florida Atlantic University on Thursday at the school's media center. Thompson also plays basketball and volleyball for Lake Wales.

 

Earlier this week, All Saints pitcher Carson Fulmer signed with Vanderbilt.

 

At Lake Region in the Thunder room, Kelly Britt donned a green and gold UAB shirt to sign her letter of intent. She will play softball for Alabama at Birmingham next season. Last year as an infielder, Britt hit .507 with 13 RBI.

 

"I'm looking forward to the rest of my senior year but I'm also looking forward to leaving," said Britt, a first team All-County selection last year.

 

At the junior college ranks, Polk State College men's basketball player Ralph Gilchrist signed with Florida State.
