Tremendous Ten: Ridge Junior Terry Rose's Scoring Garnered MVP Honors in Tourney

1- Ridge Community senior Terry Rose garnered MVP Honors at the Bolts' holiday tournament after averaging 31.3 points in three games. The biggest game for Rose came against Tenoroc on Thursday, Dec. 29, when he put up 38 points against the Titans.
2 - Lakeland wrestlers Alec Nutting (220), Demetrius Childs (182) and Eric Wortman (145) won individual titles at Lakeland's Holiday Wrestling Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 29. All went undefeated in the one-day event.
3 - Santa Fe Catholic senior Devonte Drisdom averaged 21 points, including scoring 31 points in the championship game of the Bishop McLaughlin Tournament, over the holidays.
4 - Bartow junior forward Christopher Perry had 20 points and 19 rebounds in a 63-60 win over Heritage in the Lake's Great 8 Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 29.
5 - George Jenkins senior forward Alex Morrell helped his club team, Strictly Soccer, defeat the No. 1 club team in the country, Columbus Crew, at ESPN's Disney's Soccer Showcase on Dec. 29. Morrell, who has 29 goals this season for the Eagles, had three assists throughout the three-day tournament.
6 Haines City seniors Briona Brown and LaDerricka Spillman were named to the All-Tournament team at the Queen of Palms Classic, a three-day tournament in Fort Meade where the Hornets lost in the championship game to Buchholz. Spillman had 20 points against Port Charlotte on Dec. 28. Brown scored 25 in that same contest and 20 against Sebastian River the following night.
7 Winter Haven's girls basketball team had 24 steals against Orlando Evans on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Cynkeria Mobley had 23 points in the 65-53 win.
8Fort Meade senior linebacker Maurice Russell had 12 tackles, 3 for losses, at the FACA All-Star game in Sebring on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
9Lake Wales senior lineman Marvin Wright had five tackles and was key in halting the opposing squad on a goal line stand in the FACA All-Star game in Sebring on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
10McKeel Academy basketball players Dewayne Bacon and Cory Sanders helped the Wildcats win the Seffner Christian Christmas Tournament on Tuesday, Dec.20. Sanders won MVP honors and Bacon was selected to the All-Tournament team.
