TAMPA | This weekend Andy Moates was in Ohio at his grandfathers funeral.
Thursday night in the biggest game of his life, he was hitting the game winning shot in the teams victory over Cambridge Christian.
"I knew this game was for him," said Moates who scored a game-high 25 points. "He loved basketball, I felt like he was looking down on me."
Following a four-point play by Cambridge, Moates got the ball in his hands with :05 left, raced down court and hit a game winning jumper.
The Saints led 42-28 going into the fourth; however, a 19-2 run by the Lancers put them right back into the game.
Reggie Evans added 19 points and 10 rebounds.
