LAKELAND | Lake Gibson now has a 3-time state champ in wrestling.

Senior Brandon Jorge took home his third straight title on Saturday evening, pinning Fort Myer Riverdale's Christian Jurney in 1:36 in the 138-pound division in Class 2A. Jorge's brother Anthony, who wrestled at Duke University, had won two for Lake Gibson previously.

Skyler Moody also took home a title for Lake Gibson by beating Tanis Taylor of Baron Collier, 9-1, in the finals of the 113-pound division, also in Class 2A.

Moody, who placed second in the state finals his sophomore year, got an early takedown and rolled from there to pick up his first state title.

Four other wrestlers from Polk County also placed at the tournament, a two-day event held at the Lakeland Center. Devante Terrell of Lake Gibson came in third in the heavyweight division and Robert Thornton (HWT) from Winter Haven finished sixth in Class 2A. Chase Krutzky came in sixth in the 145 pound weight class.
