Three Jenkins' Girls Soccer Athletes Sign Letters

Tori Abnathy, Kacy Scarpa and Karla Thiele all signed national letters of intent to compete in athletics at the Division I level. Abnathy and Scarpa will play soccer at Florida State University while Thiele, PolkPreps.com's Player of the Year in volleyball, will compete in the same sport at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Abnathy, who led the county in goals this year with 45, and Scarpa, a defender who was also a first-team All-County player in volleyball, helped lead Jenkins to the state title game in Class 4A this season.

The two are excited to play together at the collegiate level.

"I feel like we're going to lean on each other when we're there," Scarpa said. "So having someone I can play with and trust is always a good thing."

Added Abnathy: "I'm excited. I know this is the right place for me."
