Winter Haven's Devon Walker Plans to Sign With Florida

Winter Haven senior basketball standout Devon Walker will sign with the University of Florida on Friday afternoon, his dad told The Ledger Thursday.

Walker, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, led the county in scoring with 24 points per game his senior season. He also pulled down 10 rebounds a game and averaged four assists as Winter Haven advanced to the Class 6A state semifinals.

He had offers from Alabama, Florida, Connecticut, Central Florida and Kansas State but narrowed his decision to Alabama and Florida in the last few weeks.

Florida made a late push for Walker.
