WINTER HAVEN | All Saints pitcher Carson Fulmer tossed a five-inning no-hitter to help his team to a 15-0 victory over Sonrise Thursday in the Class 2A, District 7 championship championship game at Harden Field.
The district title was the third in a row for the Saints, and it was the second no-hitter for Fulmer (8-0).
The victory also helped the Saints reach a lofty goal they set this season.
They didn't give up a run all year to a district opponents, while scoring 89 runs.
Thursday Moser put the lopsided contest into perspective.
The Saints (17-8) had five seniors in the lineup against a Sonrise squad (7-12) that had just two seniors, and two eighth graders saw time on the mound.
"I talked to (Sonrise coach) Pete Mancuso before the game," Moser said. "The only reason we pitched Carson was because he would have gone 17 days without pitching as we go into regionals."
The talented Fulmer made the most of it with a few pro scouts in the stands, throwing fastballs between 92 and 95 miles an hour. He fanned 12 and walked two and further lowered his 0.36 ERA.
