Santa Fe Catholic Coaching Changes

Santa Fe Catholic has had a few shakeups on the coaching front. Jason Montgomery, the athletic director, is taking over as the girls basketball coach. He replaces Kim Jones, who resigned to focus on interests outside of basketball.

Robert Aranda will take over the girls soccer program. Billy Dickerson was the coach for the team last year but stepped down to focus more on his duties as the head coach of the football team.

Montgomery said he also will name new coaches for girls volleyball and boys soccer in the coming weeks.

The girls basketball team went 11-11 last season under Jones. Montgomery previously coached basketball for 19 years, 10 at the collegiate level. He was the head girls coach at McKeel Academy in 2010-11 and also served stints as the head coach at the University of Virginia-Wise, Volunteer State Community College, Saint Catharine College and Nature Coast Technical High School. He enters the 2012-13 season with a career record of 208-114.
