Shelby Duncan, Carnesha Thompson Selected For FACA Team

Bartow catcher Shelby Duncan and Lake Wales outfielder Carnesha Thompson were selected to participate in this year's FACA Softball All Star Classic on May 18-19.

The game is being held in Ocala at Forest High School.

Duncan went 5-for-7 with a .714 batting average at the state softball tournament last week.

She helped Bartow reach the state finals in Class 7A.

Thompson helped Lake Wales reach the regional quarterfinals in Class 5A.

Both were picked to participate on the East All-Star squad, which will play at 6:30 p.m. Friday. A second game between the North and South All-Stars will take place at 8 p.m.

The consolation game takes place Saturday at 10 a.m., with the championship game at 11:30.
