Ridge's Wright Signs With Warner

Mike Wright was thrown into the point guard position.

He succeeded with help from his dad and his brother — both assisted with his dribbling techniques — and he helped lead Ridge Community to a Class 7A regional final with those skills.

He's moving to the next level now, and will play the same position at Warner University, a school he signed with last week. He joins teammate Dazeran Jones, a senior who also signed with the Royals on May 16.

Wright's dad made him dribble one-handed, the right hand tied behind his back. His brother, Courtney, would always get on him if he didn't have a basketball in his hands.

"They helped get me here," said Wright, who averaged 13.8 points per game. He also led the team in assists with 124.
