LAKELAND | Kathleen's Rovonta Johnson rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns on Friday night at Johnny Johnson Field as the Red Devils blanked Lake Region 52-0 in prep football.

Kathleen was fueled by a 36-point second quarter that helped the Red Devils build a 38-0 halftime lead. The Kathleen defense and special teams accounted for four scores in the first half with two defensive touchdowns and a pair of safeties.

"I told the guys coming into the season that defense was going to be the strength of our team," said Kathleen head coach Irving Strickland. "Our whole focus this week on defense was get to the football and attack it."
