LCS Breaks Multiple Records in 69-31 Victory

Christian Alexander threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns and also had a 38-yard TD run as Lakeland Christian steam-rolled Evangelical Christian 69-31 Friday night in front of a home crowd of 1,261.

Rafeal Pressley rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns, and Jordan White had a breakout game with 159 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

"We did have some dropped balls tonight," said LCS head coach Wayne Peace. "The players complained of their visors fogging up, not much we can do about that."

LCS set multiple school records: tying for most points in a game; most extra points in a game; and the longest fumble recovery return in team history — coming when Patrick Behrens picked up a loose ball and ran 85 yards for a score.

There was some bad news for LCS Friday night. Sophomore Brent Brenneman broke both his legs while blocking on a kick return late in the first quarter and will have surgery today.

Quarterback Carson Pearlman looked sharp for Evangelical, throwing for 274 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 49 yards on the ground. Pretty impressive considering three weeks ago he was playing wide receiver and outside linebacker.

Pearlman is filling in for starting quarterback Caleb Chapman who is out with a broken collar bone.

“Wherever they need me I’ll play” he said.
