Florida Air 48, Victory Christian 20

MELBOURNE | Florida Air Academy set the tone of the game from the first defensive possession — hit Victory hard and force mistakes.

The defense couldn't have been bigger, as they forced two turnovers in the first two series and helped change the field possession for their offense, which struggled with only three first downs in the first half.

Alex Jasmin was a ball hawk on those crucial defensive stands, even if they were in the first quarter, as he baited Victory Christian's Blaze Richardson into an ill-advised throw on their first offensive possession.

Jasmin finished with three interceptions.

While the offense couldn't score after the takeaway, Jasmin did his best to give them another shot. On the very next series, Jasmin forced and recovered a fumble from the punter.

The defense remained strong until Florida Air's offense awoke in the second half. The offense erupted for 28 points in the second half and seemed to finally get everything going throughout the half. They were only stopped when they made mistakes, as penalties constantly killed drives.

Sa'vaunn Bond scored on a two yard rush to give the Victory it's first points of the game.

Storm quarterback Hunter Hotchkiss threw for 256 yards and a touchdown. He also ran in a score in the fourth quarter.

Hotchkiss also rushed for 27 yards, Bonds rushed for 22.
