Tremendous Ten: Lakeland's Caitlin Conner Appears in National Rankings

1 -  Caitlin Conner, Lakeland, volleyball: Registered 179 assists, 57 digs, 11 kills and five solo blocks during the weekend at the Orlando Volleyball Academy tournament, where Lakeland finished sixth overall. Conner is fourth in the state and 20th in the nation in assists, according to MaxPreps.com.

2  - Kendrick Holland, Winter Haven, football: The junior receiver scored three touchdowns Friday night against George Jenkins. He caught two touchdowns and scored another on a punt return in the 49-0 rout.

3  - Ra'Don Dwight, Lakeland, football: The backup rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown against Flanagan in the 27-7 win. Dwight, a sophomore, stepped in for an injured Robert Smith. It was his first varsity start.

4  - E'Shawn Davis, Ridge Community, football: Scored the game-winning touchdown in a 20-19 win over Kathleen on Friday. With 4:26 left to play, Davis rushed two yards for the touchdown to help Ridge stay perfect at 3-0. Davis also had 10 tackles.

5  - Rafael Pressley, Lakeland Christian, football: The senior rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns against Evangelical Christian on Friday in a 69-31 win.

6  - Trey Threat, Lakeland, football: Had 10 tackles and broke up three passes against a pass-happy Flanagan squad Friday.

7  - Athena Yang, Winter Haven, golf: The freshman shot a 39 in her first high school golf match Sept. 12.

8  - Jay Smith, Fort Meade, football: Threw for 145 yards on 10 of 17 passing and had two touchdowns in a 24-19 win over Haines City.

9  - Darius Frasier, Tenoroc, football: Scored three touchdowns and rushed for 131 yards on nine carries in a 36-0 win over Poinciana on Friday.

10  - I.V. Simons, Winter Haven: Simons won the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley at a five-team swim meet Thursday and two events Sept. 11. He also helped Winter Haven win three relays on both days.
