KISSIMMEE | It only took 11 offensive plays — six of those went for scores — as Landmark Christian romped past Life Academy Friday night.
Just as efficient was Patriots quarterback Seth Johnson, who was 3-for-4 for 124 yards. All three completions went for touchdowns.
Juan Mathis took a Johnson pass 48 yards in the first quarter. RB Marlow took his second completion 48 yards in the first too and Justin Simpkins caught the final one, a seven yarder in the second quarter.
The Landmark rushing attack helped pile on the early points, too.
Jaime Miranda rushed in a 30 yard score and Keland White scored on runs of 35 and 20 yards.
The Patriots built a commanding 35-0 lead in the first quarter and are off to a 5-0 season with the win.
Mathis didn't just help his team with a receiving touchdown, he also scored on a 41 yard interception return, contributed a sack, recovered two fumbles and forced another.
Landmark had three defensive touchdowns total. The other two came by way of a Miranda fumble recovery and White took a Life Academy pass to the house on a 38 yard pick six.
Noah Allen led the Pats defense in tackles with seven.
Landmark is at home next week against Seffner Christian.
