Victory Christian at Landmark Christian

RECORDS: Victory Christian 2-5, Landmark Christian 7-0.

WHEN: 7:30 p.m.

QUICK HITS: This is the first time the two teams face each other. Landmark is looking to keep its record perfect. “This is just another step for us as a program,” said Landmark coach Mark Burdon, whose team will enter FHSAA district play next year. “The kind of word we’re using is respect this week. Victory has earned that respect.” Three players rushed for over 100 yards each last week for Victory: Jamie Miranda, Keland White and Nydarius Roberts. Victory beat Orlando Christian Prep, 42-25 last Friday. Jaylyn McKinney rushed for four touchdowns and caught another in that win.

Auburndale at Mulberry

RECORDS: Auburndale 2-4. Mulberry 3-4.

QUICK HITS: Auburndale nearly beat Kathleen last week but had two touchdowns called back and missed a field goal and an extra point. The Bloodhounds will try to make up for that tonight with a 5A-9 District win. The Bloodhounds are 1-0 in the district so far. Mulberry is coming off a 45-13 loss to Winter Haven. The Panthers had 149 yards rushing, with Jerry Joyce leading the way, but the passing game mustered negative yardage. Mulberry is 0-1 in the district with a loss to Lake Wales.

Lake Gibson at Bartow

RECORDS: Lake Gibson 7-0, Bartow 3-3.

QUICK HITS: Bartow needs to come out with a win if it still wants to be in the playoff hunt. The Yellow Jackets are 0-1 in the 6A-10 district. They’re coming off a bye week after losing big to Kathleen. Lake Gibson pummeled Ridge, 26-0, last week and could clinch a playoff spot if it wins tonight. The Braves are 2-0 in the district.

Lakeland Christian at Fort Meade

RECORDS: Lakeland Christian 5-1, Fort Meade 5-1.

QUICK HITS: Both teams come into the 3A-6 district matchup with the same overall and conference record. They also come off of by weeks. LCS beat Cardinal Mooney two weeks ago and Fort Meade beat Frostproof. Fort Meade running back De’Vante Clark should be 100 percent, said Miners coach Jemalle Cornelius. Lakeland Christian will be without starting safety/wide receiver Ben Andress.

George Jenkins at Lakeland

RECORDS: George Jenkins 3-4, Lakeland 7-0.

QUICK HITS: Lakeland had to rally to beat Miami-Healeah last week but the Dreadnaughts did, with touchdown runs by Isaiah Walker and Braxton Huggins in the fourth quarter. George Jenkins beat Sebring on the road last week, with Trent Rains rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Tonight’s game is a Class 7A-5 district match-up. Jenkins lost, 28-6, last year but the score was 9-6 Lakeland through three quarters.

Lake Region at Ridge Community

RECORDS: Lake Region 1-5, Ridge Community 5-2.

QUICK HITS: This is a Class 7A-5 district matchup. Lake Region comes in after winning its first game of the season last week against Poinciana 43-6. LT Thompson threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Ridge is 1-0 in the district, trailing first-place Lakeland by a ½ game. The Bolts were shut out last week by Lake Gibson 26-0.

Frostproof at Cardinal Mooney

RECORDS: Frostproof 3-3, Cardinal Mooney 4-3.

QUICK HITS: This is a Class 3A-6 district matchup and both teams enter with 0-1 district records. Frostproof escaped with a 28-21 win over Hardee last week with freshman QB Xavier Gaines throwing for 169 yards. The Cougars ended a three-game losing streak last week with a 35-9 against St. Petersburg Catholic.

Lake Wales at Tenoroc

RECORDS: Lake Wales 4-2, Tenoroc 1-5.

QUICK HITS: This is a Class 5A-9 district matchup. The defending district champion Highlanders crushed Haines City 35-13 last week, getting three TDs from quarterback Railond Garrett. Tenoroc is coming off a bye week.

ADMISSION: $6



Sebring at Winter Haven

RECORDS: Sebring 1-5, Winter Haven 5-1.

QUICK HITS: This is a Class 6A-10 district matchup. Winter Haven cruised to a 45-13 homecoming win last week, getting touchdowns from six different players. Blue Devils running back Adam Lane is third in the county in rushing with 752 yards in six games. The Blue Streaks turned the ball over four times last week in a 17-14 loss to Jenkins.

Santa Fe Catholic at Foundation Academy

RECORDS: Santa Fe 1-5, Foundation Academy 3-3.

■ QUICK HITS: This is a Class 2A-4 district matchup. The Crimson Hawks are coming off a tough 48-0 loss to Agape Christian. Santa Fe had ended a four-game losing streak a week earlier with a win over Mount Dora Bible. The Lions are holding down second place in the district standings, just a ½ game behind Lake Mary Prep.
