McKeel, LCS Taken Out In Class 3A Volleyball Quarterfinal Round

LAKELAND | For the second consecutive season, Mckeel Academy lost in the regional quarterfinals, as Seffner Christian rebounded after losing the first game to win 22-25, 25-22, 25-22,25-23 in a Class 3A, region quarterfinal at Mckeel Academy Tuesday night.
With the victory, the Crusaders will travel to Tampa Prep next Tuesday in a regional semifinal after the Terrapins defeated Lakeland Christian 25-17, 25-11, 25-15. The Wildcats finish their season at 25-4.
In a contest that had 19 lead changes, the Wildcats used kills from Nathalie Rosado and Bethany Cameron to capture the first game, Seffner made some adjustments to take the final three.
"They (Seffner) placed the ball well tonight," Wildcats coach Nikki Krause said. "I expected this type of match coming in because the schools in Tampa and Orlando are tough in volleyball."
Whenever the Crusaders needed a big point, they went to sophomore Ally Parimore, who led both teams with 25 kills.
Fabi and Nathalie Rosado combined for 53 digs, 11 kills and four aces for McKeel with Cameron adding 23 digs and 10 kills and setter Ellie Tucker dishing out 27 assists and 15 digs.
Lakeland Christian was led by Brooke Wilsman with eight kills and five digs, Kandace Crosby chipped in with two kills, five digs and one ace.
"The girls gave us 100 percent tonight, " first-year Vkings coach Amanda Streets said.
