LAKELAND | Lakeland and Lake Gibson dropped one spot in the Associated Press state football poll Tuesday and Winter Haven moved up in its classification.
The poll was released a day later because some ranked teams had not played games Friday due to weather delays.
Lakeland, which had a bye last week and plays for the Class 7A, District 5 title against Ridge Community this Friday, dropped to No. 4 in Class 7A.
Lake Gibson, which beat Kathleen 15-13 Friday to claim the Class 6A, District 10 title, dropped to No. 5 in 6A, swapping spots with Columbia. Winter Haven jumped to No. 9 from the tenth spot.
The Blue Devils beat Lake Wales 27-14 Friday.
Kathleen also got a vote in 6A.
