Polk Soccer Players at Olympic Development Workouts

George Jenkins midfielder Jessie Scarpa and Lakeland Christian forward Bri Folds were selected to their respective Olympic development regional teams and are competing all week in Boca Raton with those squads.

Scarpa, a first-team All-County selection last season, is on the 1996 girls' squad, and Folds, a freshman who leads Polk County in goals this season with 19, is on the 1998 team.

Scarpa also plays on the plays in the ECNL league on the West Florida Premiere club team out of Tarpon Springs, one of the elite high school clubs in Florida. She leads the squad in goals this season with 11. Folds was a member of the 14-and-under U.S. national team during the summer. She was the only player from Florida to earn the honor, and just the third ever from Polk.
