2 Holiday Basketball Tournaments In Polk Begin Today

DAVENPORT | The third annual Rumble on the Ridge boys basketball tournament tips off at 3:30 p.m. today at Ridge Community High School.

Defending champion Ridge Community will host the three-day event with eight teams playing three games each, including the championship game at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

This year's field includes: East River, Winter Haven, Hillsborough, Haines City, Clearwater Central Catholic, Ridge, St. Petersburg Gibbs and Tenoroc.

There will be four games played today, Friday and Saturday. Admission is $8 per day and $5 for students. Three-day passes are available for $20.

Following the title game, a championship trophy, tournament MVP and an All-Tournament Team will awarded.

The George Jenkins Holiday Tournament also tips off 6 p.m. today at Jenkins. The two-day tournament includes: Plant City, Mulberry, Tampa King and Jenkins.
