Victory Christian landed two players on the 2012 Class 2A All-State football team Wednesday, and both were on defense.
Junior Chris Nelson was a second-team selection on the defensive line, while senior Bryan Rice was an honorable mention at linebacker.
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Nelson recorded 35 tackles and forced one fumble while helping Victory Christian to a 4-6 record and a berth in a three-way District 4 tiebreaker game with Agape Christian and Foundation Academy in November.
Nelson, who has received offers from Virginia and Purdue, is verbally committed to the Cavaliers.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Rice recorded 57 tackles in seven games this year. He is uncommitted at this time.
The Class 1A and 2A teams were released Wednesday as chosen by newspaper editors and reporters from across the state.
The Class 3A and 4A teams will be released today, the 5A and 6A teams Friday and the 7A and 8A teams Saturday.
